Laura Bliss, a Central Oregon resident since 2001, discovered her passion for the restaurant industry at the age of 21 while working at The Trout House in Sunriver, Oregon. From the start, she recognized that the fast-paced and creative world of hospitality was a language she instinctively understood. Over the years, Laura traveled and worked in various restaurants, cultivating her skills and vision with the dream of one day owning her own establishments.

In 2017, Laura purchased South Bend Bistro in Sunriver, Oregon. Her innovative approach to challenges was tested early when a kitchen fire caused significant damage to the building. Viewing it as an opportunity for growth, she oversaw a remodel that transformed the space into a dark and romantic dining destination, now beloved by locals and visitors alike.

In 2022, Laura expanded her passion for hospitality by acquiring The Jackalope Grill. Her resilience and creativity shone again during the COVID-19 pandemic. While many restaurants struggled, Laura adapted by commissioning a custom tent for the large patio at South Bend Bistro, allowing the restaurant to remain open and thrive amidst widespread shutdowns.

Laura’s commitment to excellence and innovation has made her establishments stand out as pillars of the Central Oregon culinary scene. Her passion for hospitality is evident in every detail at both South Bend Bistro and The Jackalope Grill, where guests enjoy exceptional dining experiences.
